Logo Policy

Splash Screens

Many game engines require that developers display the engine name and logo in deployed apps (often via a "splash screen" displaying the logo and "Made with ENGINE"). Bevy is free, open-source, and run by the non-profit Bevy Foundation. Bevy does not require any attribution or splash screen when you publish your app. That being said, we do deeply appreciate credit if you feel like we deserve it!

The Bevy Foundation grants app developers permission to use the unmodified Bevy name and logo in app splash screens (and/or "credits" screens), using the "Bevy", "Bevy Engine", "Made with Bevy", "Made with Bevy Engine", "Made in Bevy", "Made in Bevy Engine", "Powered by Bevy", or "Powered by Bevy Engine" text. We recommend and generally prefer "Made with Bevy".

Tasteful modifications to the logo (ex: color changes, style changes, effects, animations) to match the vibe / theme of your game or add flair are allowed (and encouraged), as are alternative text / blurbs, but in these cases reach out to the Bevy Foundation (support@bevy.org) for approval. We approve pretty much everything ... we largely just like to see what you've made!

Other Logo Uses

• Using the unmodified Bevy name and logo to identify the Bevy project, the Bevy Foundation, or work published by the Bevy project is allowed, provided the rules below are followed.
• Using the Bevy name and logo for small non-profit events like meetups, tutorials, etc are allowed, provided they do not imply they are official Bevy project or Bevy Foundation events, and admission is free.
• Using "Bevy" or "Bevy Engine" in tutorials, books, blogs, videos, publications, etc (ex: "Learning Bevy", "The Bevy Cheatbook", "Learn Bevy in Ten Days") is allowed, including for profit, provided they do not state or imply that they are official Bevy project or Bevy Foundation works.
• Using "Bevy", "Bevy Engine", and the Bevy logo on merchandise (ex: hats, shirts, artwork) is allowed for personal use and small groups, provided they are not sold.
• Additional usage may be allowed on a case-by-case basis: email us at support@bevy.org if you have any doubts or want to do something different!

Restrictions

• Do not use the Bevy logo to state (or imply) that you (or your work) are somehow official works of, affiliated with, or endorsed by the Bevy project or the Bevy Foundation, unless you have express permission from the Bevy Foundation.
• Do not sell merchandise with the Bevy logo without explicit, written permission from the Bevy Foundation. Feel free to reach out to us with proposals!
